A WWE star has shown off the wounds sustained during their match on the Friday, February 20 episode of SmackDown.
The opening match of this week’s WWE SmackDown in Sunrise, Florida saw former United States Champion Ilja Dragunov go one-on-one with The MFTs’ Tama Tonga.
With both men in the hunt for a potential United States Championship match in the future, it was Tonga who pulled off the win after more than one instance of interference from The MFTs at ringside.
While Tonga got the win, “The Mad Dragon” certainly left his mark on his opponent, as revealed by Tonga himself in a recent Twitter post.
Showing off a picture of his chest, plastered with hand prints and red marks from Dragunov’s chops, Tonga gave his rival some props, writing:
Looks effective to me.
Nobody’s chopped me up like that since my pops.
Touché Dragunov
While Carmelo Hayes has previously agreed to give Dragunov a United States Title shot, it remains to be seen whether Tama’s win will see him leapfrog the Russian in contention for that opportunity.
Hayes recently revealed that he wants to incorporate more storylines into his United States Title run, rather than simply hosting open challenges every week – click here for his full comments.
