With Halloween just around the corner, WWE has announced that next week’s episode of SmackDown will be equally nice and evil.
Danhausen is set to host his ‘Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown’ next week, with the show set to feature two WWE Championship matches, with Chelsea Green defending her WWE Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella, as well as Sami Zayn defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Trick Williams.
However, with Danhausen’s recent escapades on the show, he will also have a big role on the show as part of his ongoing rivalry.
Danhausen’s issues with Gunther
In recent weeks, the man who retired Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles has found himself having issues with a WWE legend of the same calibre, that being Danhausen.
Gunther and Danhausen recently faced off in a match which saw Gunther destroy Danhausen before Finn Balor came to the ring to make the save.
Gunther and Finn have also had issues on SmackDown in recent months as both men have been chasing the WWE Championship, but with them likely to meet before then, next week’s show could be the perfect time to reintroduce the Demon.
A Halloween show fit for a Demon
Finn Balor has not sported the Demon paint since WrestleMania 42 against Dominik Mysterio, which itself was the first time the Demon was brought out in three years since his match with Edge at WrestleMania 39.
The Demon had begun to lose a lot of it’s appeal towards the end of it’s run, with losses to Roman Reigns and then Edge killing some of the mystique around the character, but he has now been away long enough for his return to be impactful.
Danhausen’s rivalry with Gunther has drawn a lot of questions from fans about why the Career Killer is now feuding with Danhausen after retiring John Cena last year, but Danhausen is as fitting a person as any to reintroduce the Demon to WWE television, who could serve as an actual threat to Gunther where Danhausen would not.
Next week’s episode of SmackDown won’t be the only show Danhausen is hosting next week, as he will also be the host of NXT Halloween Havoc next Saturday, meaning we will be seeing a lot of Danhausen over the next week.
