A Women’s Tag Team Championship change took place on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, with potential implications for the future.
Two weeks ago on WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship for the first time together, defeating Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence.
Following their win, it was announced last week that Alexa and Tatum would defend the titles for the first time on tonight’s show against Michin and B-Fab.
Michin & B-Fab win Women’s Tag Team Championship on SmackDown
During the match on tonight’s show, Jade Cargill would end up getting involved at ringside for her teammates, with Michin pinning Tatum to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Tonight’s title win marks the first title win for both Michin and B-Fab in their WWE careers, with B-Fab making her debut in the company in 2021, while Michin first appeared in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, before signing with the company in 2018.
After being released from the company in 2021, both Michin and B-Fab were re-signed by Triple H in late 2022.
Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley’s reign as champions officially came to an end at 14 days.
Michin and B-Fab joined forces with Jade Cargill on SmackDown back in March on the road to WrestleMania 42, where the three of them served as foil for Rhea Ripley following her victory in the Elimination Chamber.
What does this mean for Tatum Paxley & Alexa Bliss?
Tatum Paxley made her main roster debut on the SmackDown after SummerSlam, when Alexa Bliss brought her to SmackDown to aid her and Charlotte Flair against Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab.
While Alexa was the one to call upon Tatum, and the two of them immediately hit it off on the main roster, Charlotte has been a little less receptive to Tatum, with the two of them butting heads.
It was initially the duo of Charlotte and Tatum that defeated Fatal Influence to earn a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Championship, but Charlotte was attacked backstage by Jade and company the night of the match, leading to Alexa stepping in to replace Charlotte, and her and Tatum winning the belts.
With Alexa and Tatum no longer partners, and Charlotte out of the equation, Tatum could ultimately end up being the one to turn Alexa heel following their loss on tonight’s SmackDown.
