A former champion and current NXT star has reflected on their WWE Raw experience, having recently been spotted at the Monday show.

As was previously reported, Brooks Jensen competed at the TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, episode of WWE Raw on March 23 in a Main Event match against Dragon Lee.

With the previous report noting that the match was seemingly recorded for Main Event, the former NXT UK Tag Team Champion has reflected on his experience, tweeting:

“Was really cool to soak in not only wrestling in front of that big of a crowd but to also wrestle in the Boston Garden under the Wrestlemania sign.

“Hopefully, it’s not the last time you see me up there.”

The son of Bull Buchanan, Brooks Jensen signed with WWE in 2021 and has been a regular fixture on NXT, including a run as the final NXT UK Tag Team Champion alongside Josh Briggs.

A founding member of The Culling, Jensen would be ejected from the faction in June of last year and has since been performing as a single competitor in NXT, largely on the house show run, and WWE Evolve.

Shining A Light On Dark Matches

It’s far from unusual for WWE to host dark matches at Raw and SmackDown, with the result having little impact on the show itself.

Dark matches can feature stars from NXT, giving WWE personnel a chance to see potential main roster names in front of such an audience.

Placing the matches on the same night as Raw and SmackDown gives an insight that may not be seen on the WWE Live house show circuit, with a ‘television audience’ in attendance for both shows.

Having a dark match against a main roster WWE name no doubt allows personnel to assess the performance of the NXT stars in question in isolation.

While some of these pre-Raw matches may make their way to the streamed Main Event show, it is currently unclear whether Brooks Jensen’s bout will remain non-televised, or if it was taped for the upcoming episode.

Of course, it isn’t just NXT stars who are used in Raw and SmackDown dark matches, with Rayo Americano taking on Royce Keys in a showing that doesn’t appear to have been recorded for Main Event.

Last seen in his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, the former Powerhouse Hobbs has been in regular action in SmackDown dark matches, recently beating Rey Fenix for the second week in a row.
