Tony D’Angelo has addressed holding two wins over Oba Femi back in WWE NXT, now that “The Ruler” has progressed to a major WrestleMania 42 match with Brock Lesnar.

After wiping out Brock Lesnar on back-to-back weeks of Monday Night Raw, Oba Femi is heading into his first WrestleMania looking like a major future star in WWE.

While his run in WWE NXT was much like his time on main roster thus far: dominant, Femi did suffer two losses to Tony D’Angelo during their feud over the NXT North American Championship in October 2024.

Aside some defeats during his early beginnings on NXT Level Up, Femi’s two losses to D’Angelo were his first in WWE, and two of only three singles match defeats overall that Femi has suffered – the other being to Ricky Saints at WWE No Mercy 2025.

Speaking with TMZ Inside the Ring, D’Angelo discussed Femi’s progression into a main roster feud with Brock Lesnar, something he feels “speaks volumes” regarding his own abilities.

He said:

“Some people want to say I had help, blah blah blah, but a win’s a win in my book.

“Seeing him do all these things with Brock Lesnar, putting him on his butt, that should speak volumes about who I am and what I’m capable of.

“When the time is right I’m sure everybody will see what I’m made of. You guys already know, the people around me already know, it’s just a matter of time.”

Will Oba Femi Get The Chance To Redeem His Three WWE NXT Losses?

While WWE NXT is firmly in Oba Femi’s rear-view at this point in time, there’s always a chance that “The Ruler” will get the opportunity to redeem his three NXT singles match losses on the main roster.

Neither Tony D’Angelo or Ricky Saints have made their way to the WWE’s main roster as of yet, however, they will both compete in a match this weekend that could potentially determine their NXT futures.

Saints and D’Angelo make up two of this Saturday’s four-way match for the NXT Championship, with Joe Hendry putting his gold on the line against them and Ethan Page at NXT Stand & Deliver 2026.

Should Saints and D’Angelo fall short in dethroning Hendry for NXT’s top prize, then they could perhaps find themselves looking for a change of scenery post WrestleMania 42.

NXT call-ups have happened on the Raw and SmackDown after WrestleMania in the past, and either Saints or D’Angelo could make an immediate splash by debuting and challenging Femi to a match.

While he has yet to win the NXT Championship, D’Angelo has been a part of WWE’s third brand for almost five years, so he feels more than ready to be given an opportunity to, as he put it show people “what he’s made of.”
