There was a title change during tonight’s November 7 episode of WWE SmackDown on USA Network in Greenville, South Carolina.
Ahead of tonight’s show, a Women’s United States Championship match was advertised with Giulia defending against Chelsea Green.
Green was entering as one half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions – a title she won alongside NXT North American Champion Ethan Page last weekend.
Green is now a double champion, as she defeated Giulia to become WWE Women’s United States Champion tonight. The match lasted just over 90 seconds.
This makes Green the first ever two-time Women’s United States Champion, as she was also the inaugural champion when the title was first introduced last year.
The lineage of the title thus far has gone from Chelsea Green to Zelina Vega to Giulia and now back to Chelsea Green.
The aforementioned Ethan Page was at tonight’s SmackDown watching in the front row, and celebrated with Green when she picked up the victory.
Green and Page are set to defend the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship against Joe Hendry and Thea Hail at WWE NXT Gold Rush on November 18.
