WWE held it’s 2026 Crown Jewel premium live event today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with four matches taking place on the show.
The only title match on the show saw Bron Breakker and Austin Theory challenge Je’von Evans and Penta for the World Tag Team Championship, the first defence of the titles of the Vision since they won them over 100 days ago.
Je’von Evans & Penta win World Tag Team Championship
During the match, Bronson Reed would make an appearance, coming to the aid of his Vision stablemates, only for Oba Femi to make his return to WWE television, evening the score.
Oba would take out Bronson Reed, tossing him off the stage through a table, before he and Bron Breakker would go face to face, allowing Penta and Je’von Evans to pin Austin Theory and win the titles.
This marks Penta’s first Tag Team Championship reign of his WWE career, and his second title reign in general following his Intercontinental Championship win earlier this year, while this marks Evans’ first title reign of his WWE career across both the main roster and NXT.
Can the Raw Tag Team division be saved?
The WWE tag team divisions have very often been a criticised part of the company’s booking, as it has been a long time since WWE really put any time or effort into the titles.
This match was the first time that the World Tag Team Championship was defended on a premium live event since WrestleMania 41, when the New Day defeated the War Raiders to win the titles, while SmackDown’s WWE Tag Team Championship has not been defended on a PLE since last year’s SummerSlam event where the Wyatt Sicks won the six team TLC match.
While Raw’s division is very light in terms of depth, with the titles being on Penta and Evans, those are two wrestlers that are very often booked to wrestle on television in great matches, so hopefully that will extend to the titles as well.
Raw recently saw the addition of the 946 to it’s tag team division, as well as having the Usos, Alpha Academy, members of the Vision and other potential alliances on the roster, so there is definitely enough to work with should WWE actually want to revive the division.
