FROM THE TAYA VALKRIE TEAM, LOS ANGELES, CA- Taya Valkyrie enters Free Agency after AEW exit. After much consideration and thorough discussions with her team Valkyrie has officially entered free agency having elected not to accept an offer to extend her contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

“I am incredibly grateful for my time with AEW and the opportunity to be part of the organization. While there, I wrestled and worked alongside exceptional talent, and built lasting relationships within the AEW family and deepend my relationships in the wrestling community. I am beyond thankful to the fans for their continued support of me, not only in my time with AEW but also as I step into this new chapter as a free agent. I can’t wait for what’s to come and have a lot more to leave in the ring. With my contract now concluded, I’m excited to explore new opportunities and possibilities as a wrestler, TV personality, and creative.”

Valkyrie’s decision to enter free agency comes at a very exciting time in her career having been a Traitor on Traitors Canada this fall and following the release of her debut music EP, FAKE.

Valkyrie had not wrestled for AEW since the January 10 ROH TV taping, where she teamed with her husband Johnny TV, Mason Madden & Mansoor in a losing effort against The Infantry.

A look back at Taya Valkyrie’s time in AEW and past accomplishments

Valkyrie arrived in AEW back in March 2023 and was immediately placed into a feud with then AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill; when the now WWE star was enjoying the longest run as a champion in AEW history. Valkyrie unsuccessfully challenged for that title twice, and was Cargill’s opponent in her last successful title defense at AEW Double or Nothing 2023 before her record-setting run was ended by Kris Statlander that same night.

The subsequent two years of her time in AEW saw Valkyrie appear more often on the ROH brand, where she formed a tag team known as The Vendetta with Deonna Purrazzo and later the aforementioned MxM TV faction.

Two years before arriving in AEW, Valkyrie competed in WWE NXT under the name Franky Monet, but only lasted nine months in the company before being released from her contract.

Valkyrie did however have far more success in TNA Wrestling and AAA. In TNA, Valkyrie enjoyed a 377 day run as TNA Knockouts World Champion – a record that still stands as the longest in TNA history, and in AAA she won the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship on four separate occasions across two spells in the promotion and was an original member of the Los Perros Del Mal faction.
