After around six years under WWE contract, The Creed Brothers have seemingly departed, with their profiles moved to the alumni section.
Former NXT Tag Team Championships, the pair have seen action on the main roster in recent years, before returning to the Monday night show in 2026.
With the departure reportedly coming due to contract expiry, the future of The Creed Brothers is yet to be determined, but there are options:
The Creed Brothers: a short WWE history
With Julius Creed signing a WWE contract in October 2020, his real-life brother would also put pen to paper in February the following year, debuting as Brutus Creed.
The Creed Brothers made their first appearances in August 2021 on NXT, initially as members of Diamond Mine, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship in June of the following year.
A main roster call-up would follow, with the pair joining American Made, led by Chad Gable, an association that would continue over in AAA with the brothers appearing as Los Americanos Hermanos and called Bruto Credo and Julio Credo.
More recently, their time has been spent in NXT, with the pair competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as recently as October 20, having won that tournament back in 2022.
The departure
As opposed to WWE allowing the contract to expire without renewal, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has noted that “it appears to be a mutual parting of ways as their deal has expired.”
Details as to the status of any contract negotiations that may have been underway ahead of expiry are yet to emerge.
The future
Having been amateur wrestlers before signing with WWE, The Creed Brothers could very well return to that sporting field, with Julius just 32 years of age and Brutus at 30.
TNA Wrestling is also a distinct possibility, with the company picking up a number of talent who have exitted WWE while still enjoying a partnership with the TKO-owned entity.
Then, there’s obviously AEW, a company that sees many “sign this star” style posts after many releases or departures. Beyond AEW, and on the theme of partnerships, a potential run in NJPW may pay dividends for The Creed Brothers through their authentic wrestling style.
On the NJPW front, the official X account recently shared news of a meeting of minds with representatives of MLW, posting:
“A meeting between the three promotions was held in Chicago on Friday, 11/6, local time!
“Attendees included MLW CEO Court Bauer, MLW Executive Vice President Joseph Cabibbo, New Japan Pro-Wrestling Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi, Tiger Hattori, and CMLL wrestler OKUMURA.
“Stay tuned for what’s next for the three promotions.”
With New Japan Pro-Wrestling of America Inc. dissolved and plan for an “expansion of… global business“, an alliance between NJPW, CMLL and MLW could benefit from The Creed Brothers.
A bright future
When it comes to The Creed Brothers, at this stage, there is no indication of disharmony from either side, made clearer from the reported “mutual” decision to part ways.
A solid tag team offering, there are arguments to be made that WWE perhaps didn’t push them in the right way, or that the brothers just didn’t have that elusive “X-factor” that comes into play during discussions.
It’s entirely possible that time away from WWE will see them brought back, something that has happened before for stars that hold value.
