There was a title change during tonight’s October 2 episode of TNA Impact with implications for the WWE NXT vs TNA Showdown show next week.
Showdown will feature a four-on-four women’s elimination tag team match with NXT represented by NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT Women’s North American Champion and WWE Speed Women’s Champion Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker and Lola Vice.
The TNA side will feature TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration (IIconics) and Mara Sadé (Jakara Jackson).
In an update on this match, The IInspiration won the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship during tonight’s episode of Impact.
They won the title from M By Elegance and Heather By Elegance of The Elegance Brand.
The Elegance Brand had been champions since March, although it was actually Ash By Elegance who teamed with Heather when they defeated Spitfire to win the title.
Tonight’s win marks the second TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Title reign for The IInspiration, as they previously held the championship from October 2021 to March 2022.
Other matches set for WWE NXT vs TNA Showdown are Ethan Page vs Mustafa Ali for the NXT North American Championship, DarkState vs The Hardy Boyz for both the NXT and TNA Tag Team Championships, and the men’s four-on-four elimination tag match, which is NXT Champion Ricky Saints, TNA World Champion Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and Myles Borne vs Mike Santana, TNA International Champion Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.
