WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling’s teams for next week’s WWE Showdown event have now been officially revealed ahead of the show.
At NXT No Mercy, it was announced by NXT General Manager Ava that a special TNA vs. NXT ‘Invasion’ event would take place on October 7, featuring a men’s and women’s elimination match, pitting ‘Team NXT’ against ‘Team TNA’.
On tonight’s show, NXT General Manager Ava confirmed that NXT Champion Ricky Saints and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne would captain NXT’s two teams, while Santino Marella confirmed that Mike Santana would lead TNA’s men’s team, while new TNA Knockout’s Champion Kelani Jordan of NXT would captain the women’s team.
The teams were finalised on the show, with TNA World Champion Trick Williams serving as the co-captain of Team NXT, with Je’von Evans and Myles Borne joining NXT’s men’s team.
Santana would then confirm TNA’s men’s team would feature himself, Frankie Kazarian, Moose and Leon Slater.
Jacy Jayne would reveal that NXT’s women’s team would feature herself, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca and Jaida Parker, while Kelani announced that TNA’s women’s team would be herself, Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay and Mara Sade.
