WWE United States Champion Sami Zayn has named an arena which he believes has a top 5 American wrestling crowd.
With Zayn continuing the US Title open challenge tradition, the champion put his gold on the line against Rey Fenix on the September 12 SmackDown episode.
Sami Zayn was ultimately victorious, retaining his gold in front of the live crowd at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Zayn has now taken to Twitter to praise this arena, noting that he hopes WWE visits this arena more often.
Calling Norfolk a “vastly underrated wrestling town”, Sami Zayn wrote:
“You wouldn’t think it offhand, but Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA is a TOP 5 American crowd.
“Vastly underrated wrestling town, they’re always red hot. One of my favorite places to work and I hope we go back more often.”
Sami Zayn won the WWE US Championship from Solo Sikoa on the August 29 SmackDown episode in France.
The September 12 episode also saw the return of Cody Rhodes, who took out Drew McIntyre and challenged him to a match at Wrestlepalooza.
