WWE NXT’s Ricky Saints has addressed Tony D’Angelo’s NXT Championship victory at Stand & Deliver this past weekend.
After five years of work in WWE NXT, Tony D’Angelo finally captured the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver, when he defeated Joe Hendry, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints in a four-way main event.
Tony’s victory makes him the first person ever to hold the NXT, NXT Tag Team, NXT North American and NXT Heritage Cup Championships.
NXT In ‘Good Hands’ Says Ricky Saints
Speaking to TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Ricky Saints commented on Tony’s victory, with him praising Tony’s hard work.
He said:
“Kudos to Tony, honestly. His story about him being here is very well documented, and I think a person who can withstand so much deserves something like that.
“I’m not gonna say NXT is in good hands now that he’s champ, because it’d be in good champ only if I’m champion, but I think it’ll be okay, just right with ol’ Tony D.
“Here’s the thing, I’m not gonna sugarcoat this; the guy works hard. The guy has put in the work for four years, five years in NXT. So to see him actually get to that mountain top, that’s just the beginning for him, not even the peak.
“I’m really excited to see what happens now, I will say that.”

Call Ups Coming Soon For Top NXT Stars?
With NXT’s biggest show of the year now behind us, and WrestleMania just around the corner, there are likely set to be a number of potential main roster call ups in the coming weeks.
In years past, top NXT stars who lost at Stand & Deliver have tended to move up to the main roster shortly after, and there are a number of names this year who could do just that.
All three of Joe Hendry, Ricky Saints and Ethan Page are names who we could see make their way up to Raw or SmackDown in the near future, with all three having already been NXT Champion.
Following her NXT Women’s Championship defeat, Jacy Jayne is another name that would make sense to make the move up to the main roster after WrestleMania, and whether she does so with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid remains to be seen.
Other names we could see make the move up include Blake Monroe and Sol Ruca, with Blake coming up short in her NXT Women’s North American Championship match with Tatum Paxley, while Sol picked up the win in her grudge match with Zaria.
