Rhea Ripley has shared something of an update after her match against Women’s United States Champion Giulia on last night’s WWE SmackDown.
Giulia was originally set to face IYO SKY, but WWE changed the match before SmackDown kicked off, with no explanation given as to why.
Nonetheless, Ripley vs Giulia was the match that took place, with Giulia specifically known for her hard-hitting style, especially in her pre-WWE days wrestling in Japan.
There were one or two moments from the match that went somewhat viral, one of them being a brutal looking stomp from Giulia to Ripley’s head.
Showing off the after effects of their match and seemingly that particular moment, Ripley shared a short video on her Instagram story today.
The video featured a caption wishing Giulia a happy birthday, as well as zoom-in on Ripley’s eye which now has a shiner from their match.

The match ended in a non-finish when Nia Jax and Lash Legend interfered.
Next week, Jax and Legend – now collectively named The Irresistible Forces – challenge Ripley and SKY for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
