A former WWE star has seemingly re-signed with the company, making their return on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
During John Cena’s Last Time Is Now Tournament, it was noted that names from outside the company would be appearing in the tournament, one of which ended up being Zack Ryder, who lost to LA Knight in the opening round.
Ryder’s return was seemingly a one off return for the tournament, and it will remain that way, though we will be seeing more of Matt Cardona himself.
On tonight’s SmackDown show, Kit Wilson faced off against a mystery opponent, which ended up being Matt Cardona, with the intro of his Zack Ryder theme song playing, before his name faded away to reveal the name Matt Cardona, and Cardona returned with his real name.
On commentary, Michael Cole noted that Matt Cardona was now officially a member of the SmackDown roster, with him seemingly re-signing with the company.
Cardona scored the victory over Kit Wilson with his Rough Ryder finishing move, his first win in WWE in six and a half years.
