A debuting tag team has been dubbed a new version of the Hardy Boyz by a WWE star following their first match that took place last night.
WWE NXT once again featureed plenty of crossover from TNA, including the WWE debut of TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.
Slater teamed with Je’Von Evans to pick up a victory against Niko Vance and Shawn Spears of The Culling.
A lot has been made about the fact Slater have a combined age of just 42, with both of them at 21 years old.
Reacting to the match, in particular a clip of Slater and Evans doing an dive to the outside in-sync, former TNA and current NXT star Jordynne Grace compared them to the Hardy Boyz.
She posted:
Haven’t felt this way about a team since the Hardy Boyz
The Hardy Boyz themselves will be in action on next week’s Showdown episode of WWE NXT, taking on Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin of DarkState.
The match will be title-for-title, winner takes all, with the Hardys’ TNA World Tag Team Championship and DarkState’s NXT Tag Team Championship both on the line.
Grace had a backstage segment with Joe Hendry last night, where they both seemed to accept the fact that they wouldn’t be picked to represent either TNA or NXT at Showdown due to their affiliations with both.
