Tony D’Angelo’s former allies in The Family have reacted to his major NXT Championship win at WWE Stand and Deliver 2026.
In the main event of WWE NXT’s biggest premium live event of the year, Tony D’Angelo captured the only prize in NXT that has alluded him, when he became the new NXT Champion.
After putting both Ricky Saints and Ethan Page through the announce table, D’Angelo pinned Joe Hendry after hitting Dead to Rights and became the first NXT star to win the Heritage Cup, NXT Tag Team Titles, North American Title and NXT Championship.
Taking to Twitter after the win, D’Angelo proclaimed that he is now the “NXT GOAT.”
He wrote:
Grand Slam Champ
NXT GOAT
TONY D’ANGELO
Joining in with the celebrations was Adriana Rizzo, who congratulated her former boss on becoming a Grand Slam Champion in NXT.
She wrote:
Congratulations – NXT GRAND SLAM CHAMPION!!! @TonyDangeloWWE #wwenxt
In complete contrast to Rizzo’s tweet, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo took the opportunity to poke fun at D’Angelo’s appearance, rather than put his issues with “The Don” behind him and offer his congratulations.
Sharing a picture of a caveman holding up a large rock, with the implication that it’s similar to D’Angelo holding up the NXT Championship, Stacks wrote:
NXT CAVEMAN
The fourth member of Tony D’s Family, Luca Crusifino has yet to comment on the win, with the former “Consigliere” of The Don recently being repackaged in WWE Evolve as a care-free, party-loving character.
While Crusifino is set for a fresh start in WWE Evolve, and Stacks is enjoying success as a member of NXT’s newest faction: Birthright, Adriana Rizzo is currently sat on the sidelines after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus in August 2025.
Tony D’Angelo’s Era Of WWE NXT Set To Begin
In what is his fifth year on the brand, Tony D’Angelo is finally at the top of NXT as its champion. But what, or who will be next up to stand in his way?
The NXT roster could be set to undergo some changes following Stand & Deliver, with established names potentially moving on to Raw or SmackDown, and new stars emerging from WWE Evolve.
D’Angelo could, quite possibly see his three Stand and Deliver challengers all called up to the main roster, with Ethan Page, Ricky Saints and Joe Hendry likely poised to be featured on a grander stage.
Any of those three stars would make sense as next challengers for D’Angelo should they be sticking around, however, there is also some of the brands newer stars such as Jackson Drake and Shiloh Hill who could potentially step up.
Then there’s Stacks as a possible first challenger. The story is already in place and he’s got the numbers alongside him in Birthright that could make him seem like a legitimate threat to D’Angelo’s crown.
Whatever way WWE go, D’Angelo’s reign as NXT Champion will be a fitting way for one of the brands all-time best sign off in style.
