Becky Lynch has revealed her ambition to win the Money in the Bank briefcase whilst performing as her current heel WWE character.
Since turning heel on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania 41 last year, Becky Lynch’s character has devolved more and more into paranoia as she accuses WWE officials of cheating, commentators and wrestling media personalities of bias coverage against her and threatening management with legal action and suspensions.
Lynch going increasingly off the deep end on WWE TV and social media has resulted in endless entertainment for fans, and as confirmed by Lynch during her appearance on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, she is having a lot of fun with her current role as well:
“Aw man yes. Maybe too much fun. Is there no such thing? There might be such a thing where I go ‘Ah, is this too?’ And then as soon as I starting going ‘Is this too?’ I go ‘Nope, nope, it’s great.’
“There’s an E in the WWE for a reason. What is it that we always say? If you’re having fun then the audience is having fun…
“I feel like the stuff that I find fun and the best, and whatever can be a new vehicle for telling stories, it’s hard to know if it’s going to resonate with the audience but you don’t know unless you try. And some of the stuff that I enjoyed the least, which was probably when I was at my highest, the audience liked.
“I don’t know, I think you have to do the things that you want to do and that you think are gonna be interesting, that can add a different dynamic to the show or a different dimension and then hopefully the audience like that too.”

As well as “The Man”, Stephanie McMahon is also very much enjoying Lynch’s current character, describing her recent work as “fabulous”:
“Even just the way you sell when things don’t go your way. It’s fabulous. Your facials, there’s like a whole thing behind it. And where it goes from there and how long it lasts, the heat, it’s phenomenal. I’m very impressed.”

McMahon would then ask Lynch whether her current character is due to her having nothing left to prove, which allows her to loosen up, have more fun and experiment a bit more on WWE TV, to which Lynch responded:
“I think it’s a little bit from column a and a little bit from column b where I know I’ve proved myself enough and I’m at the point in my career where I’m immensely confident in my ability. ‘What do you want me to do? Ok, yeah whatever.’ Whether I agree with it or I don’t agree with it, and sometime I’ll be like ‘That’s great, that’s amazing’ and sometimes I’ll disagree, but you gotta (do the job).
“I think when I was younger I would have fought it a lot more, both actually fought it with creative and then fought it mostly with my head. Now I just go ‘I’ll just make it work.’”

Becky Lynch Reveals Money In The Bank Goal
With multiple world titles, a Royal Rumble win and WrestleMania main event under her belt, the only accomplishment left for Becky Lynch in WWE is the Money in the Bank briefcase – something her husband Seth Rollins has held twice in his career.
When asked how she got to the place in her career when she can be a bit more relaxed with her creative direction, Lynch said that comes with time and accomplishments, before naming the one goal that’s alluded her to this point in WWE.
Lynch said:
“I think it’s a lot of years, it’s every goal I wanted to tick off the list I have bar one. But it’s just a silly one. I want the Money in the Bank briefcase, I want the power.
“Especially this character, this character with the Money in the Bank briefcase? Everybody would hate it so much because they’d want it to go to somebody younger.
“Somebody up and coming. Somebody who’s never been a champion before and I can just shove that in everybody’s faces and have all the champions fear me. So that’s the one goal that’s alluded me.”

While typically a Summer staple in WWE, this year’s Money In The Bank will instead take place on September 6, with New Orleans hosting.
