At AEW WrestleDream 2026, “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido defeated Swerve Strickland and The New Level in a Two Out of Three Falls Match to win the AEW World Trios Championships.
Following this loss, Strickland has issued a challenge for a rematch at AEW Full Gear, which Page accepted.
However, Swerve’s demand to make this rematch Texas Death was turned down by “Hangman,” not wanting to drag his partners into the hatred between he and Strickland.
Here are three potential ways for Swerve Strickland to get his Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear.
Brutally attacking Brodido
Since forming as a trio, “Hangman” Adam Page has shown that he cares about both Bandido and Brody King.
Coming to their aid against The Demand led to “Hangman” and Brodido first capturing the AEW World Trios Championships together.
Swerve Strickland can see this bond between Page, Bandido and Brody, wanting to exploit it to his advantage to get what he wants for AEW Full Gear 2026.
Brutally attacking Brodido might be the simplest way for Swerve to convince “Hangman” that the only direction to go with this AEW World Trios Championship feud is to fight in a Texas Death Match.
Reminding Hangman Page of AEW Full Gear 2023
Back at AEW Full Gear 2023, Swerve Strickland put his name on the map as a top star in All Elite Wrestling by defeating “Hangman” Adam Page in one of the bloodiest and most violent Texas Death Matches in wrestling history.
With the bloodshed on display back then, it feels like Strickland might have to give “Hangman” a reminder of what they put themselves through.
The loss that night saw “Hangman” go on a full descent to madness, making him bloodthirsty for revenge against Strickland for the next year.
Page getting reminded of being hung and becoming a different version of himself might help him to realize that he must face Swerve in Texas Death once again to truly face his demons at AEW Full Gear 2026.
Invading Hangman Page’s home once again
The spark of the “Hangman” Page and Swerve Strickland truly happened before their Texas Death Match.
On the road to AEW Full Gear 2026, Swerve took things too far when he invaded Page’s home with his young child asleep.
Leaving emotional scars on “Hangman” and his entire family, Strickland showcased just how far he was willing to go to have a mental edge over his enemy.
To get Texas Death for this AEW World Trios Championships, Swerve might have to take things to this level again and invade Page’s family home once more.
