A WWE star has opened up on a four year wait before their first premium live event match, and how it taught them to be patient.

At NXT Halloween Havoc, Tatum Paxley knocked off Jacy Jayne to capture the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.

Not only was this Tatum’s first singles title match in her career, it was also her first premium live event match of any kind.

In a new behind the scenes vlog from the night of Halloween Havoc, Tatum reflected on her four year wait for her first PLE match, and how she is proof that working hard and waiting can take you to new heights.

She said:

“Four years I have been in NXT, and I have gone to pay-per-views, I’ve done pre-show for Stand & Deliver, but I have never had a match, a singles title match specifically, but any match, on a pay-per-view before.

“For me specifically to get this opportunity shows that anybody, and I mean anyone, can get there, can get to the top. I feel like I’m one of those people that people might not have ever seen getting a title shot before, then all of a sudden it’s like bam!

“I’ve been working so hard for this so now it’s just showing everybody that you absolutely can do this, you can get to the top like this, you just gotta work hard and be patient and trust time. I have learned to trust time and the process of how long it takes to get places and it’s just, I’m so grateful and ready. Right now I’m ready.”
