An AAA championship match is set for the August 1 SmackDown episode, with a WWE team issuing an open challenge.
The first major crossover title change between AAA and WWE following the April 2025 acquisition announcement saw Angel and Berto of Los Garza win the AAA Tag Team Championship.
With the duo winning the gold at the June 15 Triplemanía Regia event, Los Garza will next defend their title on WWE TV.
In a WWE digital exclusive clip, Santos Escobar, Angel and Berto noted that they want the AAA tag title to be defended in their home of WWE.
Welcoming all comers ahead of the August 1 SmackDown episode, Escobar concluded:
“Open challenge, come and get them.”
Los Garza currently have one defence of the AAA Tag Team Championship under their belts, defeating Laredo Kid & Octagon Jr at the July 11 Verano De Escandalo show.
They most recently wrestled for AAA at the July 16 Alianzas event, defeating El Hijo del Vikingo & Nino Hamburguesa in non-title action.
Following appearances at the July 25 Alianzas show, Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano and Dragon Lee are set to challenge for Hijo del Vikingo’s AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía XXXIII on August 16.
