A WWE star has confirmed he recently suffered a concussion but has since passed tests and been cleared to return.
During this past week’s episode of WWE NXT, Vic Joseph on commentary referenced that Birthright leader Lexis King was not medically cleared to be at the show.
King has now confirmed he suffered a concussion during a live event match on March 20, but is now cleared once again. He said:
“Hey guys, I just wanted to give a little update. First off, thank you to everybody who reached out and checked on me.
“For those that don’t know, on March 20, I did suffer a really bad concussion, but we’re a little over a week out now and I’ve been cleared, passed all the tests, and feeling better than ever.
“It is a reminder though that this is a very dangerous business, and above all else, our health and safety comes first.”

Lexis King Not Happy With NXT Roster
King then snapped into an in-character rant about how he and the Birthright’s opponents should be protecting them in the ring, saying:
“It’s also a reminder too that some people don’t belong in the ring! And yes, I’m talking about these indie jabronis, they sneak their way into NXT through the WWE ID program, and the first thing they wanna do is get all their s**t in on me!
“But I’m done. I’m done taking all the s**t. I got knocked out, okay? That’s not funny. Let’s think about it. Me, Lexis King, hell, any other members of the Birthright, if you’re in the ring with us, our health and safety should be your number one priority.
“Because we are the most important thing going right now. We are the reason people are buying tickets to see you do all your flippy-do’s. So you hurt us, well there goes the gravy train, buddy. So think about it. Think about that next time you want to get your s**t in.”

Promoting this Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT at The Theater in Madison Square Garden, King added:
“But you know what? We’ve got a little something coming up. Next week in Madison Square Garden, the most historic faction in the history of professional wrestling is walking into MSG for the first time, and we’re taking on none other than Los Americanos.
“A couple of frauds, I might add. A couple of guys who couldn’t make it by being themselves, they had to take a little trip to Mexico and learn a little Espanol, put a little spice into the mix. But I’ll give it to them, they’ve advanced, they’ve won, they’ve succeeded, they’ve gotten ‘over.’
“But that all ends this week when Uriah Connors and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo lay them down on the mat in MSG and bring us one step closer to winning the Tag Team Championships at Stand & Deliver. Because after all, it is our Birthright.”

As King noted, the winner of the match between Connors & Lorenzo and Los Americanos (Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne) will challenge Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes for the NXT Tag Team Championship at WWE Stand & Deliver on April 4.
Los Americanos actually came into the tournament as a replacement for Elio LeFleur & Eli Knight after LeFleur suffered an injury during last weekend’s live events as well.
Who Will Advance To WWE Stand & Deliver?
Considering Los Americanos weren’t originally in the tournament, it would be easy to say Birthright are likely to advance to WWE Stand & Deliver to challenge Vanity Project for the NXT Tag Team Title.
However, Birthright vs Vanity Project would be a heel vs heel match, which, while not impossible, seems a less than ideal prospect.
Meanwhile, Los Americanos challenging Vanity Project would be a firm babyface vs heel match, and with the experience of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, it could be beneficial to have them work with Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes to pass some of their knowledge onto the young champions.
