Mark Henry Says Trick Williams Holding The US Championship On WWE SmackDown Was ‘The Kiss Of Death’

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has reacted to Trick Williams standing tall at the end of SmackDown, calling one moment the kiss of death.

With Trick Williams’ interference leading to Sami Zayn defeating Carmelo Hayes for the US Championship on last week’s SmackDown, Williams confronted his WrestleMania opponent on the April 3 episode.

With Zayn defeating Hayes in a title rematch in the show’s main event, Trick Williams made his entrance with Lil Yachty to speak with Zayn.

With the segment ending with Williams dropping Zayn and standing tall with the US Title belt, Mark Henry has reacted to this moment, suggesting that Williams is now cursed.

When the segment was described to Mark Henry on Busted Open, Henry reacted:

“Oh man, you know what that means. That’s the kiss of death right there.

“You don’t ever touch the title, don’t do it, never hold a title up over your head unless you’ve won it.

“Damn it, Trick! Now Danhausen is going to have to come out there and curse his ass, because he’s already cursed.”

This is something of a meta reaction, with the star slated to lose at premium live events often standing tall during TV appearances prior, so the rivalry doesn’t end up being one-sided.

It’s worth noting that there are still two more SmackDown episodes between now and WrestleMania 42 on April 18-19, so the closing moments of Friday’s show won’t be the last visual we have before we see Williams challenge for Zayn’s gold.

With Zayn receiving negative reactions since dethroning Carmelo Hayes, it would make sense for Trick Williams to defeat him for the gold at WrestleMania, to give the recent NXT call-up a huge win on a major stage.
