A top WWE star made their return to television for the first time since SummerSlam on tonight’s SmackDown show in Dublin.
At WWE SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre teamed up with Logan Paul, with the pair picking up the win over Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.
Following their victory in the match, Drew set his sights on Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship, with him Claymore Kicking Cody through the announce table to close the show.
On tonight’s episode of SmackDown in Dublin, Drew McIntyre came to the ring to deliver an update on Cody Rhodes, where he said that he was going to take the title from him when he returns.
This led to the first appearance of Randy Orton since he and Jelly Roll’s loss at SummerSlam, with him sneaking up behind McIntyre and dropping him with an RKO.
It was reported earlier today that McIntyre and Rhodes’ WWE Championship match was listed to take place at Clash In Paris, but with Cody yet to return to television, it seems as though that may not be the case.
Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa’s United States Championship match, that was also internally listed for the show, is set to take place on next week’s episode of SmackDown in Lyon, France.
