WWE’s Lola Vice’s Proud Cuban Heritage

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Lola opened up on the importance of her being the first Cuban-American champion in WWE.

She said:

“My grandparents, my mom, my dad, they immigrated to the United States from Cuba, they came to Miami to give me a better life. My whole life, for some reason, I was always born with this passion to represent my culture, and I always knew I was born for big things, but when you look at Cubans and everything happening right now in the world, it’s very sad, and I was fortunate enough to be born in Miami.

“But I always told myself ‘I’m gonna take my life, everything I’ve been through in my life, what my parents and my grandparents went through to get to this country, and I’m going to represent my culture, and I’m going to make it known.

“When I first got to WWE there were several people that told me ‘hey, don’t represent your culture, they’re going to group you’, and I always said ‘I do not care’. I believe in myself, I’m undeniable enough where I’m gonna leave them no choice, but I’m gonna represent my culture and I’m gonna be my own star.

“And I’m sitting here as the first Cuban-American Champion. I’m so happy.”

Lola Vice’s WWE Main Roster Potential

With Lola Vice now sitting atop the NXT women’s division, she has the opportunity to lead the division ahead of a potential call up to the WWE main roster.

With Lola continuing to grow as a wrestler in NXT, as well as her crossover appeal, there is no doubt that Lola Vice will likely be a big player on WWE’s main roster one day.
