Former WWE star Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler) is set to challenge for one of his former company’s championships in a crossover match with TNA Wrestling.
While the above sentence would’ve seemed crazy even just a year ago, crossover bouts like these are now possible due to WWE and TNA Wrestling’s partnership.
NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer have been key players in the partnership following its official announcement, with the duo notably defending their gold on the Janaury 23 TNA iMPACT episode.
The duo are now slated to defend their NXT Tag Team Championship on the February 6 show, against Nic Nemeth and Ryan Nemeth.
This title match was announced after this week’s (January 30) iMPACT episode, which saw the Nemeths defeat AJ Francis & KC Navarro.
In a video shared to social media, TNA Wrestling’s Santino Marella and his daughter, WWE NXT’s Arianna Grace, the duo announced that this WWE title match will take place on TNA Wrestling TV.
Nic Nemeth – who wrestled for WWE as Dolph Ziggler from 2004 to 2023 – is no stranger to NXT, holding the main NXT Championship for just under a month in 2022.
Nemeth is one of several TNA names who fans have speculated could show up in Saturday’s Royal Rumble match.
Two WWE stars has addressed the possibility of TNA World Champion Joe Hendry appearing in the men’s Rumble, which you can read more about right here.
