Nia Jax is now a heel and I, for one, didn’t see this coming. I mean I literally didn’t see it coming because I usually take the opportunity of a Nia Jax appearance to go make a cup of tea.
But following Ronda Rousey’s promo on Raw, in which she hyped up her upcoming Survivor Series contest against Becky Lynch, the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ was confronted by Jax.
The ‘Irresistible Force’ reminded the Raw Women’s Champion that her victory in the Battle Royal a week ago at Evolution guarantees Jax a shot at the title draped over Rousey’s shoulder. An opportunity she would be looking to cash in some time after Survivor Series.
The heated exchange ended when Ember Moon, until now a friend of Nia’s, came down to the ring for their scheduled match. The entertaining contest, marked by Jax wrestling a distinctively heelish style, ultimately resulted in Nia picking up the pin fall victory.
Her celebrations were however cut short by Tamina, who came down to the ring and proceeded to beat down the prone Ember, before staring at Jax.
The former Raw‘s Women’s champion initially locked eyes with Tamina, before instructing her to turn Moon over into a Boston crab and delivering repetitive elbow drops to her now former friend.
Speaking backstage after the event, Jax attempted to provide an explanation of her actions, pointing out that her and Tamina are “family”, while also weirdly eating a banana. What a heel.

These events mark a startling change for the intimidating Jax, who has until now struggled to win over fans as a babyface. Her new attitude will be interesting to watch going forward, as will her potential rematch with Ronda.
