A WWE star has officially undergone a name change after signing with the company last year and joining the developmental system.

In October 2025, WWE NXT announced a number of new signings, including Nathaniel Cranton.

Cranton had previously wrestled under the name Nathan Angel pre-WWE, but had been working NXT live event matches under his real name since his signing.

Today, WWE filed to trademark the names Dorian Van Dux and Tristan Angels.

It is now confirmed that Tristan Angels is the new name for Nathaniel Cranton/Nathan Angel, as he has updated his social media pages to reflect his new name.

It is not yet clear who will be using the name Dorian Van Dux.

Other names who joined WWE at the same time as Tristan Angels last year were Cyril Coquerelle, who had previously been known as Aigle Blanc and has since debuted on NXT TV as Elio LeFleur, as well as Mike Derudder, who wrestled before WWE as Mike D Vecchio.

Also in that class were Spain’s Jaime Garcia, otherwise known as Zozaya, as well as Dusan Novakovic.
