John Cena has commented on the fan reaction following his Intercontinental Championship victory on last night’s WWE Raw.
John Cena officially completed his Grand Slam on last night’s WWE Raw show, which was his final ever Raw in his hometown of Boston, when he defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the Intercontinental Championship.
Taking to Twitter following the show, Cena reflected on the crowd reaction following his victory, thanking Boston for the reaction.
He said:
Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are.
The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston.
Next week’s WWE Raw show in Madison Square Garden will be John Cena’s final Raw show before his retirement in December.
