WWE Star Says Ilja Dragunov Helped Him To Take His Game To The Next Level

A WWE star has revealed that Ilja Dragunov helped him to take his game to the next level during their time in NXT.

In 2024, the NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov would feud with Trick Williams, with the title change happening at that year’s Spring Breakin’.

This would mark the first time that Williams would hold the NXT Championship, retaining the title for 74 days.

During a recent episode of No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Williams shared his praise of his opponent, saying:

“I’ve got to pay my respects to the Mad Dragon, because he’s a guy who can take your game to the next level.

“I see the comments, and they are not lying, Ilja Dragunov is that good.

“He pulls something out of you that you don’t even know that you’re capable of.”

With his 206-day reign at an end, Dragunov would be called up to the main roster in April 2024, being drafted to the Raw brand and going on to become WWE United States Champion.

Williams would lose the NXT Championship to Ethan Page at Heatwave in July of that year, recapturing it at the October 1 debut on The CW.

He was recently called up to the main roster and has revealed why he chose to confront the returning Randy Orton on SmackDown.
