Over the last few years, we have seen All Elite Wrestling (AEW) take several shots at WWE, usually from former WWE Superstars who now work for Tony Khan’s promotion.
People on WWE TV have almost never responded with shots of their own at AEW’s expense, but fans believe that Drew McIntyre actually poked fun at a recent AEW botch on Raw last night.
During his promo on the show last night, Drew McIntyre said that MVP had made some guarantees, which is “a dangerous thing to do in this industry” noting that “sparks fly” when promises aren’t delivered on.
“I noticed that MVP made some guarantees tonight,” said McIntyre during a promo. “That’s such a dangerous thing to do in this industry. If you make a guarantee and don’t deliver, fans get upset and sparks fly.”
Some have taken McIntyre’s promo to be a bit of a shot at the ending to AEW Revolution earlier this month, where AEW promised a big explosion after the main event, which didn’t exactly go to plan.
On Monday Night Raw last night, WWE announced that Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley are going to go one-on-one at WrestleMania 37 next month over Lashley’s WWE Championship.
Speaking of big matches being announced, WWE also confirmed on last night’s episode of Raw that Drew McIntyre will go one-on-one f with Sheamus at Fastlane for the third time in as many weeks.
