Dominik Mysterio has addressed the possibility of a major rematch happening if he wins the AAA Mega Championship.
“Dirty Dom” will challenge for AAA’s top prize in a four-way match at Triplemania XXXIII, with WWE stars Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano also set to compete for El Hijo Del Vikingo’s gold.
With many fans predicting that Dominik Mysterio will be AAA Mega Champion by the end of August 16, Dominik has noted that he believes this potential title win could lead to another match against his father.
Explaining why he thinks Rey Mysterio would challenge him for the AAA Mega Championship if he won it, Dominik Mysterio said:
“If I become the Mega Champion for AAA, I don’t see why my father, the leprechaun, shouldn’t be coming down to me and begging for a title shot.
“He has never fought for that title when it comes to the Mega Campeón for AAA. So, if I get my hands on it, I’m sure he’s going to want to put his name in the history books, but he’s got to go through me, the greatest Mysterio of all time.”
Dominik and Rey Mysterio’s most recent singles match on WWE TV took place on the July 1, 2024 Raw episode, with Rey coming out on top.
Rey Mysterio recently reacted to Dominik and AJ Styles’ tributes to Eddie Guerrero in their SummerSlam match, which you can read more about right here.
