Chelsea Green has reacted to Matt Cardona’s return to WWE television on last night’s episode of NXT.
The September 23 episode of NXT closed with a huge main event pitting NXT Champion Oba Femi against TNA World Champion Trick Williams in a winner-takes-all match for both titles.
After several TNA stars were seen at the Performance Center throughout the night, many more names began showing up in the crowd during Femi and Williams’ match, including former WWE stars The IInspiration, Eric Young, Cedric Alexander and Matt Cardona, the latter of which received a big pop from the fans in Orlando.
Reacting to her husband’s long-awaited return to WWE, Chelsea Green took to Twitter, sharing an image of Cardona’s name trending on the platform, along with the following message:
That’s my man
Welcome back to #WWENXT baby.
Green would then comment on a video of Cardona’s appearance in the crowd, quoting what NXT commentator Vic Joseph said in reaction to his return:
“That was The Complete Matt Cardona”
The appearance was Cardona’s first in WWE since his release from the company in 2020, with the former Zack Ryder reinventing himself as one of the biggest names on the independent scene over the past five years.
Cardona and the other TNA stars invaded the ring before Femi and Williams’ match could reach its conclusion, leading to a mass brawl between TNA and NXT stars as the show went off the air.
