New WWE ID signing Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall is set to make his in-ring debut for the WWE NXT brand on tonight’s show.
UPDATE: Hall ended up losing his debut match against Lexis King.
On last week’s episode of WWE NXT, Men’s WWE Speed Champion Elio LeFleur confirmed that he had suffered a torn ligament in his shoulder, which would keep him out of action for several months.
As such, LeFleur vacated the men’s Speed Championship, with a new tournament to crown the next champion set to begin on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT.
Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall To Make WWE NXT Debut
WWE recently announced a new batch of WWE ID signings, which included Starboy Charlie, who received the new name Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall.
WWE ID talents typically make their mark in WWE Evolve before eventually making it up to NXT television, but NXT fans are not going to have to wait long at all to see Starboy in action on Tuesday nights.
Ahead of tonight’s show, NXT General Manager Robert Stone said that he had spoken to all the General Managers ahead of the Speed Championship tournament, and Evolve Foreman Timothy Thatcher got back to him.
Thatcher sent Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall to NXT to compete in the tournament, with him set to make his debut on tonight’s show.
More Debuts Coming To WWE NXT?
With NXT still feeling the recent call ups of Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Je’von Evans and others, the brand has been looking at recruiting more names to help fill the spots on the roster.
However, with WrestleMania just around the corner, we could see some more NXT stars be called up, with talent like Ricky Saints, Ethan Page and Jacy Jayne among names that could make the move.
In terms of arrivals, the men’s side could see the arrival of former New Japan Pro Wrestling stars in EVIL and Hiromu Takahashi, both of whom are now free agents and reportedly have interest from the company.
As well as EVIL and Takahashi, WWE also recently signed a number of European talents, with Dorian Van Dux and Tristan Angels yet to make their debuts on the brand.
On the women’s side, WWE recently announced several new signings, including British independent standout Rayne Leverkusen, who was named the MVP of WWE’s SummerSlam tryout last year in New Jersey.
