An injury to a WWE star was announced during tonight’s August 8 episode of SmackDown airing on the USA Network from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Last week on SmackDown, a match between Aleister Black and Damian Priest ended in a disqualification when Black used a steel chair as a weapon.
Tonight, a video promo from Black aired with an update on the condition of Priest, who had been further attacked after the match.
Black said that he isn’t an “eye for an eye” kind of guy, he’s a “eye for a head, eye for a limb, eye for a life” kind of guy.
He explained that he fights violence with his own violence, and that’s what happened to Priest.
Black said during his promo that Priest was at home recovering from a hairline fracture to his jaw.
Hairline jaw fractures can generally take a few weeks or a couple of months to recover from, but can also be longer depending on the severity.
There’s no word at this point if former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Priest is legitimately injured or he’s off TV for another reason, of if it’s purely for the storyline, but we’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
Earlier this week, it was announced that another former World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER, had been ruled out of action “indefinitely” due to an injury.
The storyline was that he suffered the injury at WWE SummerSlam against CM Punk, but in reality, that was a planned cover for him needing to take time off for a legitimate issue that existed before the match.
