An update has emerged on the contract status of a former TNA Wrestling champion who’s expected to be joining AEW ‘imminently’.

Following ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey dropping the TNA X Division Championship to Moose in November (taped October), reports indicated that Bailey was expected to be AEW-bound once his contract with TNA Wrestling was officially up.

Fightful Select has provided a new update on the situation, confirming that as of January 1, 2025, Bailey is no longer contracted to TNA Wrestling, and is now a free agent.

The report noted that Bailey will now be “heading to AEW imminently”.

Bailey hasn’t wrestled for TNA Wrestling since dropping the X Division gold to Moose in a match which aired on the November 7 edition of iMPACT.

He has since been wrestling on the independent scene, competing for the likes of GCW, DPW and Wrestling Revolver.
