A WWE star has opened up about feeling he’d been “taken for granted” ahead of tonight’s Elimination Chamber 2026 event.

In addition to the Chamber matches tonight, the show will also see CM Punk put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Finn Balor.

Balor hasn’t held a world title since he became the first ever Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2016, with a reign that only lasted one day due to an injury suffered in the match he won the title.

Ahead of his match against Punk at WWE Elimination Chamber tonight, Balor has opened up about feeling like he’s been “taken for granted” as a reliable utility player over the past few years without being given the chance to be at the very top of the company.

He said:

“I’ve proved myself time and time again in this business, but sometimes I get taken for granted. ‘Good old reliable Finn.’

“And I might be guilty – I was raised to show up, do your job, stay quiet, don’t ask any questions.

“The longer I’m around the more I realize the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and I think it’s time for Finn Balor to get some grease.”

He also discussed whether tonight’s match defines his legacy, saying:

“One match doesn’t define a legacy, a legacy is based over a career. My career has a stain on it. For 10 years people have been asking ‘what if?’

“Well tonight, I answer those questions.

“People talk about finishing their story, I don’t need to finish my story, I need to rewrite the entire narrative.”
