An update has emerged on the potential split of a WWE tag team during tonight’s August 8 episode of SmackDown.
After a break to tape the Amazon Prime reboot of American Gladiators, which is he hosting, The Miz has returned to WWE TV in the past couple of weeks.
His absence was never explained on TV which meant an abrupt pause on his ‘Melo Don’t Miz’ tag team with Carmelo Hayes.
Tonight on SmackDown, Hayes and Miz bumped into each other and Hayes confronted Miz about leaving him high and dry for a number of weeks.
Hayes then said he wanted to move on by himself and was intending to speak to General Manager Nick Aldis to get himself a United States Championship match.
However, Miz said that he’d already spoken to Aldis, and he actually got them a tag team match next week.
Hayes then left, before Aldis walked in and met up with Miz, with Miz saying that Aldis was just the man he wanted to speak to – implying that he actually hadn’t got the deal for a tag match done with Aldis and essentially lied to Hayes.
It remains unclear whether Melo Don’t Miz will be back in tag team action next week on WWE SmackDown, or if Miz will have gotten himself a US Title match and was just lying to Hayes entirely.
