WWE are reportedly “strongly considering” booking a title change at an upcoming event.

At WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night Two, Dominik Mysterio defends his Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles at long last after “Dirty Dom” was previously forced to pull out of the match over a month ago at Night of Champions due to a rib injury.

While it remains to be seen whether Dom will make it out of New Jersey with his championship, a new report is suggesting that the third-generation star may be in line to capture another top prize, albeit one not in WWE.

On August 14, Mysterio challenges for El Hijo Del Vikingo’s AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania XXXIII, with fellow WWE stars Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) also involved.

On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, it was reported that WWE are “strongly considering” having Mysterio come out on top in the match, with the prospect of having AAA’s top champion appear on WWE’s weekly programming said to be “appealing to all sides involved”.

While El Hijo Del Vikingo has been positioned as AAA’s top star since WWE’s purchase of the promotion in April, the company are now said to be “heavily considering” making Mysterio “the face of AAA for the time being.”
