Dominik Mysterio may be the WWE Intercontinental Champion, but he didn’t leave the June 16 episode of Raw with his physical title belt.
The episode of WWE Raw saw JD McDonagh in a first-time match against AJ Styles, with the victory going to the Phenomenal One.
Despite Mysterio having instructed Balor to stay backstage, Judgment Day would insert themselves into proceedings during the match.
With a Styles Clash leading to the pin on McDonagh, Mysterio’s attempt at a distraction wasn’t enough to even the odds and it was only the presence of Balor that saved the Intercontinental Champion from a further post-match attack.
On top of the victory over McDonagh, Styles would rub salt into the wounds by taking possession of Mysterio’s WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Mysterio is clearly less than impressed by what took place on WWE Raw, sending a message to Nick Aldis and AJ Styles on Instagram Stories that read:
“Give me my s**t back, you old bags!!”
The message would be plastered over an image of Aldis and Styles backstage, with both men tagged into the post, as can be seen below this news story.
During the backstage segment, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis (standing in for Adam Pearce) confirmed Styles would face Mysterio for the title at Night of Champions on June 28.
Elsewhere on WWE Raw, Liv Morgan suffered an injury at the beginning of her match against Kairi Sane.
