A WWE main roster star worked an NXT live event tonight, teaming up with her fiancé in mixed tag team action.
In July 2022, Maxxine Dupri was called up to the main roster in very early on in her progression – under a year after she’d had her first NXT tryout and before she’d even had a single match.
Seemingly trying to make up for the lack of reps, Dupri has been working some NXT live events over the past few months, while maintaining her role on Raw alongside the Alpha Academy.
That was the case at tonight’s Saturday, September 13 show in Orlando, Florida.
However, tonight was notable as it marked the first time she’d teamed with her fiancé Anthony Luke, who himself is an NXT talent.
Luke has yet to debut on NXT TV, but has been a big part of the first two seasons of WWE LFG, with his relationship with Dupri being brought up on that show numerous times.
Dupri and Luke teamed up tonight in a mixed tag team match against another real-life couple, Arianna Grace and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo.
It was Grace and Lorenzo who picked up the win.
In another note from tonight’s show, TNA’s Joe Hendry made another NXT live event appearance, teaming with Shiloh Hill, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger in the main event against DarkState.
