A WWE star has returned from a six month injury absence, joining up with a top SmackDown faction.

As has become tradition since he won the United States Championship, Sami Zayn put his gold on the line in Perth, Australia on today’s SmackDown, with the returning Shinsuke Nakamura answering the call.

Nakamura, who returned along with his old ‘The Rising Sun’ entrance theme, went toe-to-toe with his old NXT rival, but just when it seemed as if the Japanese star was closing in on victory he was dragged from the ring by a hooded figure.

The hooded figure then revealed themself to be Tama Tonga, who had been off TV with injury since April.

Sporting a face painted look reminiscent of his time in the Guerrillas of Destiny in NJPW, Tonga threw Nakamura into the barricade before turning his attention to Zayn in the ring.

However, Tama was not alone, as the MFTs Talla Tonga, Tonga Loa and JC Mateo also appeared donning similar face paint, leading to a four-on-one attack on the United States Champion.

Leader of MFT Solo Sikoa then showed up, with the attack seemingly setting up a rematch between he and Zayn for the United States Title in the future, over two months since Zayn first defeated Solo for the title.
