A WWE star who has been absent for many months has made their return after departing the company before re-signing.

Back in October, it was announced that the WWE contract of Santos Escobar had expired, with him departing the company and being removed from the roster page.

Shortly after his departure, it was reported that Escobar had signed a new deal, with him still yet to make his return to television.

Last week, it was reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Escobar’s return was “described as something that fell through the cracks but they were talking about getting it back on track.”

Tonight, AAA made it’s debut on FOX in Latin America, and the status of Santos Escobar in WWE is no longer a mystery.

On the show, AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr came to the ring, before he was confronted by a man wearing the mask of Fantasma.

After the two embraced, Wagner was attacked, before Fantasma would unmask, revealing himself as Santos Escobar, and leaving with his father’s legendary mask in hand.
