A WWE star thinks that her character was “kind of stale” in 2025 during her lengthy Women’s Championship reign.

After cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax during the January 3, 2025 episode of SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton would go on to hold the title for 302 days, racking up successful title defenses over the likes of Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 and Jade Cargill at SummerSlam 2025.

This reign would end at Cargill’s hands during the November 1, Saturday Night’s Main Event – leading to Stratton disappearing from WWE TV until her eventual return at the 2026 Royal Rumble.

Speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Stratton addressed the status of her character following her return, admitting that she’s keen to “bring back some spunk” to her character after becoming “stale” during her WWE Women’s Championship reign.

“I feel like for the longest for the past year, I was kind of stale. I felt like there wasn’t any crazy storylines after I won the title and I kind of want to bring back some spunk.

“So we’re going to be even more heelish Tiffany, we’re gonna play around with some things so I’m excited for that.”

Further discussing her heel side, Stratton admitted that she misses her NXT character, which allowed her to just be “full Tiffy”:

“I do miss how my character was down in NXT. I do miss being a heel. I love being a heel and wrestling as a heel, right now I wrestle as a babyface, as a heel I feel like I can be free and just kind of be full Tiffy.

“Whereas right now I reel it back. So I do miss wrestling as a heel, doing backstages and promos as a heel.”

Stratton will be one of the six competitors in this year’s Women’s Elimination Chamber Match in Chicago on Saturday, February 28, with Asuka, Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Kiana James and Alexa Bliss making up the rest of the field.
