A WWE SmackDown star has reacted to their positive fan response amid their ongoing absence from television.
After a successful return to WWE NXT in 2023, many fans had high hopes for Baron Corbin upon his return to the main roster via SmackDown in the 2024 WWE Draft.
Unfortunately, TV time has not been something Corbin has experienced much of recently, with his last appearance coming almost two months ago on August 30 – that being a tag team loss alongside Apollo Crews against Los Garza.
Despite being off TV Corbin has continued to compete in dark matches, and has now responded to a Twitter user that made specific mention of the “pop” Corbin received from the live crowd in Columbia, SC during a dark match at last night’s SmackDown.
In response to the fan, Corbin wrote:
Columbia SC did like me a lot
Corbin’s comments follow a backstage update that came prior to SmackDown from Fightful Select, in which they noted how Corbin was “fine” and has continued to be present at TV tapings despite not appearing in front of the camera.
Interestingly it was also noted that Corbin was not initially sold on the idea of teaming with Apollo Crews but “grew to like” the pairing.
