A former WWE star made their in-ring return for the company on this week’s edition of AAA on FOX, earning a title shot.
After recently serving as a guest coach in the WWE Performance Center, a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion’s in-ring return has aired.
The January 31 edition of AAA on FOX saw Mini Vikingo, Elio LeFleur, Chris Carter and the returning TJ Perkins face off in an AAA World Cruiserweight Championship #1 contender’s match.
TJP was ultimately victorious, pinning Carter to earn a future shot at Laredo Kid’s gold.
This match marked TJ Perkins’ AAA debut, and his first match for a WWE-affiliated brand in almost six years.
Perkins officially debuted for WWE in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament, which he ultimately won to claim the revived WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
He departed the company in February 2019, with his final match prior to his release seeing him lose to Humberto Carrillo (Berto) on the February 19, 2019 edition of 205 Live.
PWInsider previously reported that Perkins was at the WWE Performance Center in October 2025, serving as a guest coach.
