WWE Star Removed From Championship Match Due To Injury

A WWE star has been removed from a championship match due to an injury, with an official update now confirmed.

UPDATE: It was Jaida Parker who replaced Lainey Reid.

Ruca retained with under 20 seconds left after Parker was distracted by Zaria and Lash Legend.

One of the matches set for tonight’s NXT No Mercy premium live event was Sol Ruca defending the WWE Speed Women’s Championship against Lainey Reid.

However, Shawn Michaels has announced on social media that Reid has suffered an injury and is out of the match.

Ruca will still be defending the title tonight against a mystery opponent.

Michaels said:

“Some late breaking news, I was just informed by our medical team that late last night, Lainey Reid was injured during training.

“Therefore she is not medically cleared to compete tonight for the Speed Championship.

“That being said, Sol Ruca will still defend the Speed Championship tonight at No Mercy.

“Tune in to find out exactly who her opponent will be.”

Jordynne Grace is also entering WWE NXT No Mercy tonight with an injury in the form of a broken thumb, but will still be working her weaponized steel cage match against Blake Monroe as planned.
