There has been a title change during tonight’s January 5 Stranger Things themed episode of WWE Raw in Brooklyn, New York.
After a Stranger Things branded intro from Corey Graves and Michael Cole, the first match on Raw tonight saw the Kabuki Warriors – Asuka and Kairi Sane – put their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.
The match played host to the crowning of new titleholders as SKY and Ripley are the new Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Ripley landed a Riptide on Asuka before SKY followed up with the Over The Moonsault, then dived to the outside to take care of Sane while Ripley pinned Asuka for the win.
The Kabuki Warriors had held the title since November when they won it from Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
This marks Ripley’s second time holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship after she previously held it with Nikki Cross – as her Nikki ASH persona – in 2021.
For SKY, it’s her third WWE Women’s Tag Team Title reign after she previously held it twice with Dakota Kai during their time in Damage CTRL.
SKY is also a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Zoey Stark.
