Pro-Wrestling NOAH’s Alpha Wolf has been teased for a WWE excursion, following a recent statement made at show in Japan.

On April 1, Yoshi-Tatsu revealed that he had been in touch with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H about Alpha Wolf.

Pro Wrestling NOAH shared a clip of this moment on Twitter, indicating that moves have been made to send Alpha Wolf to the WWE, with Wolf to bring the GHC Heavyweight Title if he wins it on April 12.

with Yoshi-Tatsu saying:

“Inamura, you love talking about WWE, don’t you? Well, I got in touch with Hunter the other day! (shows smartphone screen) It’s HHH (Triple H)!

“After seizing the belt in Nagoya on 4.12, Wolf heads straight to WWE! The GHC Heavyweight comes under WWE jurisdiction.

“It’s what they call a leak. Don’t you guys from TEAM 2000X want to see this new timeline? Back Alpha Wolf at 4.12 Nagoya!”

(Translated from Japanese)

It is unclear whether this was just an April Fools Day joke or an actual announcement made in a tongue-in-cheek manner, however it’s worth remembering that WWE has an established partnership with NOAH which has seen multiple Japanese stars compete for WWE during excursions, including the current GHC Heavyweight Champion.

Yoshiki Inamura is the current GHC Heavyweight Champion and will defend the title against Alpha Wolf at Pro-Wrestling NOAH APEX Conquest on April 12.

The Partnership Between WWE & Pro-Wrestling NOAH

Alpha Wolf wouldn’t be the only Pro-Wrestling NOAH name in WWE if he does make the move, with a recent report revealing that Ulka Sasaki is reporting to the WWE Performance Center.

The partnership between WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH has seen the likes of Charlie Dempsey and Harlem Lewis head from NXT to the Japan, with Omos also becoming GHC Tag Team Champion alongside Jack Morris as Team 2000X.

Shinsuke Nakamura would make his return to Pro Wrestling NOAH to face Great Muta in January 2023, returning two years later in another victory, this time over the aforementioned Ulka Sasaki, while AJ Styles would make his debut there in July 2024, beating Naomichi Marufuji.

With Sasaki having made his debut at a recent WWE Live event, he joins Yoshiki Inamura, who competed in NXT between November 2024 and August of last year.

WWE opening its doors to international stars not under a contract is an interesting move for the company that also shares a more prominent partnership with TNA Wrestling.

Alongside the existing pathway offered by the WWE ID program, which has led signed independent stars to appear on NXT and Evolve, it certainly expands the possibility for a new tranche of talent to be seen on television.

We will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.
