TNA Wrestling Star Announced As Special Referee For WWE Match

A TNA Wrestling star has been confirmed to be the special referee for an upcoming WWE NXT match, ahead of a big clash.

Tuesday’s (August 17) NXT episode will see NXT’s Fatal Influence face off against TNA Wrestling’s Elegance Brand in six-woman tag-team action.

NXT General Manager Ava has now confirmed that former TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich will be the special referee for this match.

Ava shared a video from a call between her, Slamovich and Santino Marella, during which Slamovich pitched herself as the special referee so there’s a “fair and decisive winner” to the tag match.

Ava noted that that was okay with her, and Santino Marella gave his blessing, after telling Slamovich to call things right down the middle with no shenanigans.

This is all ahead of NXT Heatwave on August 24, where Jacy Jayne will defend her TNA Knockouts Championship against Slamovich and Ash By Elegance.

WWE shared the following preview for the upcoming championship match:

The TNA Knockouts Championship will be on the line at a WWE NXT Premium Live Event as Jacy Jayne defends the title against Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance in a Triple Threat Match.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is on a torrid run across both companies, using Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx as her backup to strengthen her hold on both titles.

Slamovich and Ash by Elegance are determined to bring the TNA Knockouts Title back home to TNA with them, and they’ll get their chance at Heatwave.

A spoiler has emerged on potential plans for NXT star and TNA World Champion Trick Williams’ opponent at Bound For Glory, which you can read more about right here.
